Intramurals At The University of Toronto: Find Your Team!

There are so many awesome sports teams to join during your time at the University of Toronto St. George. Additionally, intramurals at the University of Toronto are a great way to meet new people, exercise, and build your sense of community participation through teamwork and dedication. Competition is a big part of what you’ll sign up for when you join an intramural sports team at the University of Toronto. Here is a list of intramurals that might be of interest to you.

Badminton

With registration beginning in the Fall, and a regular season that commences during winter months, badminton will exercise your abilities in precision, agility, and balance. Also, you can enroll in the co-ed leagues.

Basketball

Registration for basketball occurs during the early months of winter (before December) with the regular season typically starting in the new year. Furthermore, there are a variety of leagues available. You can join co-ed, men’s only, and women’s only leagues. Basketball is a great way to demonstrate your strategic positioning, aim, endurance, jumping power, and speed.

Dodgeball

Stay alert and agile while you keep an eye on your opponents. Dodgeball will challenge your ability to react quickly and to make fast throws that hit your intended target. The regular season begins at the beginning of the new year, with registration occurring at least two months prior.

Field Hockey

Stand firm on your feet as you use your strength, stick handling skills, and quick communication to score a goal. There will be some bruising! Typically, registration begins a few months before January, which is when the regular season commences.

Ice Hockey

You will need full equipment for this one — head to toe. Demonstrate your strong skating abilities, stick handling, strength, power, and precision to get the puck into the net. Registration begins in early winter, and the regular seasons begin between the months of January — early March. There are several divisions including men’s 1, 2, and 3, women’s division 1, and the co-ed division.

InnerTube Water Polo

If you love to swim, this might be a good choice for you. Registration begins in the early months of winter, with the regular season commencing during the early months of the new year. Exercise your precision, communication skills, and endurance. Co-ed teams are available for registration.

Lacrosse

Use the strength of your legs, core, and upper body to make perfect passes and dodge your opponents as you sprint to the net. Registration begins in early winter, and the regular season commences in the early months of the new year.

Soccer

Use your endurance, precision, and handling skills to deke out everyone too slow to catch your moves. Similarly, there are 5 men’s divisions to choose from, each with varying tiers of skill. The co-ed and women’s teams have 2 divisions to choose from. Registration begins in early winter, with the regular season beginning in the new year.

Table Tennis

Bring forth your skills in hand-eye coordination, speed, and quick decision-making when playing table tennis. Registration begins in the fall, with the regular season starting shortly afterward. Also, co-ed teams are available.

Tennis

Work with your teammates using your abilities in precision, power, speed, and quick decision making. Registration begins in the fall, with the regular season occurring shortly afterward.

Ultimate Frisbee

With three co-ed divisions to choose from based on skill level, you’ll exercise your ability to make a good toss that is both quick and strong, and performed with good aim. The regular season begins in the new year, with registration starting in the early months of the winter.

Volleyball

Use your abilities to jump, serve, defend and dive for the ball to rack up points. With the regular season beginning in the first months of the new year, there are several divisions to choose from including four tiers of co-ed, two tiers of men’s league, and two tiers of women’s league.

Intramurals at the University of Toronto are diverse in options. Hopefully, you find something you love to participate in.
