Top Scholarships/Bursaries To Win At University of New Brunswick

The University of New Brunswick offers more than one-thousand five-hundred scholarships, bursaries and prizes, amounting to millions of dollars to all variations of students. UNB has implemented a system to keep the application process fast, and simple. Students merely need to submit one application each year to be considered for the majority of the available awards. Below is a list of UNB’s top first year scholarships

Currie Undergraduate Scholarship

Total amount: $65 000.00

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to a maximum of four students beginning any degree program other than Engineering (a subsequent currie scholarship is available specifically for engineering students) upon graduation from any Atlantic high school. Applicants are required to submit an essay — minimum of two-hundred and fifty words, giving the Selection Committee an indication of their leadership capabilities, evidence of overcoming barriers and/or difficult situations.  Financial need is an important consideration when choosing a recipient.

Beaverbrook Scholars Award

Total amount: $50 000.00 ($12 000.00 per year)

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to 3 outstanding graduates from any New Brunswick high school who are beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB. Selections are made based upon academic achievement, financial need, and participation in extra-curricular activities.

Class of 1941 Scholarship

Total amount: $16 400.00 ($4100.00 per year)

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to three canadian students beginning an undergraduate degree program on the Fredericton campus. Selection is made based upon financial need and academic performance.

.Andrew and Marjorie McCain Scholarship

Total amount: $16 000.00 ($4000.00 per year)

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to a student enrolled at UNB’s Fredericton campus, with specific attention paid to individuals who have graduated from a high school in Carleton County or Victoria County, NB. Selection is made based on academic achievement and financial need.

Arthur and Sandra Irving Primrose Scholarship

Total amount: $10 000.00

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to two students entering an undergraduate degree program on UNB’s Saint John campus. Selection is based upon academic achievement, community/athletic leadership, and evaluation of the required essay submission.

CFUW Fredericton Renewable Scholarship

Total amount: $8 000.00 ($2000.00 per year)

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to a female student residing in New Brunswick beginning an undergraduate degree program on the Fredericton campus. Selection is made based on academic achievement and financial need. 

Claude Taylor Scholarship

Total amount: $4000.00

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to a canadian student beginning an undergraduate degree program directly out of high school. Selection is made based upon academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.

Dale E. Saunders Scholarship

Total amount: $4000.00 ($1000.00 per year)

Deadline: March 1st

Awarded to a student who is beginning an undergraduate degree program directly out of high school. Selection is made based upon academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in extracurricular activities.
