With Ivey tuition standing at $25,200 each year at the HBA level, the program remains to be one of the most expensive in the country. However, fear not – there are many Ivey scholarships that you can be awarded at the Ivey Business School. There are overy 40 awards for HBA students in their 2nd year, totalling over $176,000. In fact, at admission, approximately 15-20% of HBA candidates receive a scholarship or award.
How to Apply
Applying for Ivey scholarships is easy and you can be considered for almost a million dollars in Scholarships and Awards. Accordingly you must complete the Financial Aid section on the online Ivey HBA application. Typically, you must write three essays displaying your community involvement and leadership skills. Grades are also a consideration.

Scholarships
Claude Lamoureux HBA Scholarship ($10,000)
The Claude Lamoureux HBA Scholarship is worth $10,000 and is awarded to full-time HBA students based on both academic achievement (minimum 80% average) and demonstrated community leadership. Preference will be given to students who have graduated form a publicly-funded high school. There are six scholarships available.
Dr. Samuel A. Martin HBA ‘90 Scholarship ($10,000)
This scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering HBA1 or HBA2 at the Ivey Business School based on both academic achievement and demonstrated community leadership. This scholarship was established by a generous gift from the HBA Class of 1990 in memory and honour of their late professor Dr. Samuel A. Martin, and in recognition of their 20th Class Reunion.
Erik Mikkelson HBA ‘06 Entrepreneurship Award ($10,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student entering the HBA program at the Ivey Business School. It’s based on academic achievement, interest in entrepreneurship, and engagement in a variety of activities outside the classroom, including, but not limited to, leadership on campus and in the community, athletic involvement and/or part-time work experience. Preference will be given to a student in the top 25% of the applicant pool, based on academic performance. This award was established with a generous gift from Erik Mikkelsen, HBA ‘06, to recognize and provide support for aspiring future entrepreneurs.
General Motors of Canada Company HBA Scholarship ($1,600)
This scholarship is awarded to a student entering the first year of the HBA program based on academic achievement. Preference for receiving this scholarship will be given to the following individuals: females, members of a visible cultural or ethnic minority, those having a physical disability, the first members of their families to attend a university.
Graywood Developments HBA Real Estate Award ($10,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in HBA2 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, community leadership and an interest in real estate. Correspondingly interest in real estate will be measured by each candidate’s response to a short essay question. This award was established with a generous gift from Graywood Developments.
HBA ‘74 Scholarships ($5.000)
This scholarship is awarded to (5) full-time HBA students at the Ivey Business School, based on both academic achievement and demonstrated community leadership. These scholarships were made possible by gifts from the Class of HBA ‘74.
HBA ‘94 McCleary Memorial Award ($3,000)
Like Some other Ivey scholarships this is awarded to a full-time student of outstanding quality in HBA at the Ivey Business School, at the end of their first year of HBA. THe President of the HBA Student’s Council will initiate the selection process for this peer award in the Spring. Candidates will be nominated by their classmates based on the following criteria: they are sociable, friendly, positive, hard-working people who are a pleasure to be around. They approach life with enthusiasm and energy and strive to excel in a well-rounded range of activities within and outside the Business School.
HBA Ivey IPO Award ($2,200)
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who has completed Year 1 of the HBA program. It’s based on both academic excellence and leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in University or community activities. The Ivey Financial Aid Office will electronically communicate the Ivey HBA in-program award applications throughout the fall-winter timeframe. Accordingly the award is made possible by the generosity of the HBA Ivey IPO through Foundation Western.
