Weston Family Scholarship in the Skilled Trades:
For competent graduates of skilled crafts schools, the present employment market is brimming with interesting prospects. A satisfying job in the construction, transportation, renewable energy, or industrial industries might be found with the proper mix of skills and expertise. In order to apply for this scholarship, students must first download the application type that is most suitable for them, with that being between dependent student, independent student, married or common law and sole support parent options. The Black & McDonald Indigenous Award:
A full-time student presently enrolled in any skilled trades program at Durham College receives this award once a year and is chosen by the college’s Student Awards Office. An Aboriginal student will be given priority. The grant winner must be an Ontario resident, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, engaged in full-time studies, and have a documented financial need, according to OSAP residence standards.
The General Motors of Canada Company Award:
An award that is open to full-time students enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechtronics, Electronics Engineering, or Operations Management with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Candidates that fit the employment equity target category (women, aboriginals, handicapped, or visible minorities) are given priority.
The Greater Oshawa Area Chamber of Commerce Award:
This award is offered to full-time, second or third year students in the School of Business, Information Technology, and Management who demonstrate financial need. The grant winner must be an Ontario resident, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, engaged in full-time studies, and have a documented financial need, according to OSAP residence standards. The recipient is chosen by the college’s Student Awards Office.
The Marjorie Elizabeth Willoughby Awards:
Durham College full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 are eligible and chosen by the student awards office. Residents of Durham Region who are single-parent families will be given priority. The awardee must fulfil the OSAP residency conditions, which include being an Ontario resident, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, enrolled full-time in school, and demonstrating financial need.
The McErlean Family Award:
This award is offered to a single parent pursuing courses at the institution in any faculty and year. The grant is designed to cover all institutional expenditures, including tuition, mobile computing fees, auxiliary fees, and book costs, among others. The grant winner must be an Ontario resident, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, engaged in full-time studies, and have a documented financial need, according to OSAP residence standards. The recipient is chosen by the college’s Student Awards Office.
The Ontario Power Generation Award:
This award is open to new or current students in the School of Science and Engineering Technology. The grant winner must be an Ontario resident, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, engaged in full-time studies, and have a documented financial need, according to OSAP residence standards. The recipient is chosen by the college’s Student Awards Office.
Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries Award:
Awarded yearly to a student pursuing a degree in a nuclear-related field of study. Women, Indigenous peoples, and veterans are given priority. Recipients who choose to provide their contact information will be invited to events and will have the opportunity to network with others in the nuclear industry. The beneficiary must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, enrolled full-time in school and in good academic standing, and have a documented financial need. The recipient will be chosen by the College’s Student Awards Office.
