It’s no secret that paying for university is costly, but what about paying for a place to live? Luckily, Ryerson offers a few different options that may suit your needs close to campus. Some buildings require a mandatory meal plan such as the Daphne Cockwell Complex. All residence fees for Daphne Cockwell Complex, International Living & Learning Centre, and Pitman Hall include rent, local phone calls, internet, laundry fee, residence council fees and residence life programming fees. All the numbers below reflect 2019-2020 costs. However, if you’re researching for 2020-2021 fees, you will need to add a 3-5% increase. 

1.Daphne Cockwell Complex

If you are choosing DCC, you have a choice of paying for a 7-day or 5-day meal plan. This decision can affect your overall cost of Ryerson residence fees. Here’s a breakdown of the two-bedroom cost with 7-day meal plan in 2019-2020:

Application Fee (due June 3rd): $50

1st Installment (due June 26): $3,034 + $2,550 meal plan charge + $450 flex meal dollars + a $30 food administration fee

2nd Installment (due Oct 23): $2,879 

3rd Installment (due Jan 22): $2,879 + a $2,550 charge for the mandatory meal plan

4th Installment (due March 4): $2,879

2.International Living and Learning Centre

ILC requires a mandatory 7-day meal plan. With a choice of a double room or single room, you may choose whether you have a roommate or not. Here’s the breakdown of the double room cost during the 2019-2020 period:

Application Fee (due June 3rd): $50

1st Installment (due June 26): $2,114.81 + $2,550 meal plan charge + $450 flex meal dollars + a $30 food administration fee

2nd Installment (due Oct 23): $1,959.75

3rd Installment (due Jan 22): $1,959.75 + a $2,550 charge for the meal plan

4th Installment (due March 4): 1,959.75

3.Pitman Hall

Similarly, PIT requires a 7-day meal plan for its double room, single room, and paired style; however, students living in the 4 or 5 bedroom apartment style may choose between a 7-day meal plan, 5-day meal plan, or the Pitman Apartment Declining Balance Plan. Here’s the breakdown of Ryerson residence fees for a single room with the mandatory 7-day meal plan in 2019-2020:

1st Installment (due June 26): $2,333.56 + $2,550 meal plan charge + $450 flex meal dollars + a $30 food administration fee

4.HOEM Residence

HOEM Residence fees include rent, internet, in-suite cleaning, residence council fees and program fees, however, utilities are not included. The estimated cost of utilities is $35 a person per month. Let’s breakdown the Ryerson residence fees for a three-bedroom apartment (this does not include a mandatory meal plan):
